I am interested in the journey ‘to’ and ‘of’ parenthood; the psychological, physical and practical journey during this liminal time and space. I am passionate about supporting parents on this journey and to support them to feel heard, acknowledged and prepared. I am able to offer support in a number of ways.

The journey to pregnancy

The journey to conception and pregnancy can be an exciting but anxious time for many reasons. There may be things on your mind that you would find helpful to discuss. Having a space to explore the meaning of becoming a parent and the transition for you, partner and your family can be helpful. You may be experiencing difficulties conceiving or during the pregnancy.

I am able to offer a supportive therapeutic space for you to explore and address any fears you may have about birth and beyond. You may have worries about birth itself or becoming a parent. You may have had a previous difficult birth experience or other experiences that you feel may be effecting you at this time.

Please contact me to discuss a bespoke package of therapy or a combination of therapy and aspects of hypnobirthing to meet your request and needs.

The 4th trimester refers to the time period following birth. It can be refer to the first three months to one year and beyond. It is a time of transition, transformation and is often accompanied with highs and lows.

Clinical research is finally starting to give this time period the attention it deserves, and with that a better understanding of the emotional well being of parents.

‘Matresence’ is a term that acknowledges the shifts in brain organisation that occur for a new mother, and is considered the next big brain development shift after adolescence (the last time your brain went through such a big reshuffle).

When also including the physical, psychological and practical changes that have occurred and are occurring at this time, it really is no surprise that this can be a challenging period for many.

I am able to offer a supportive therapeutic space to explore these changes and the impact on you. A space to connect with who you are and how to live connected to your values and identity. I also specialise in supporting any challenges with mood, anxiety, confidence, isolation, relationship, bonding, identity, returning to work and birth trauma.

You are the woman you have always been, and more”
